Welcome to Sidmouth Cardiac Rehab and Healthy Hearts exercise classes, designed not only for people who have completed their hospital Cardiac Rehab program, but for anyone who would like to get fitter and healthier, in a class that can cater for a wide range of ages, health conditions and abilities.
The Classes aim to be fun and effective with the exercise adjusted to meet the needs of the individual. Our aim is to bring about a gradual improvement in stamina strength flexibility and well-being. In healthy hearts we are aiming for all gain and no pain!

About Tina
Tina Theophilus has been a registered general nurse since 1987.
She is a BACPR (British Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation) Qualified exercise specialist and a level 4 exercise instructor.
She has trained extensively in promoting fitness and health in older people and has 20 years experience in teaching exercise for cardiac rehabilitation and other health conditions.
She currently works as a specialist nurse with patients who have peripheral arterial disease. She teaches several cardiac rehabilitation classes each week.

Mondays 10:30 (on Zoom)
Mondays 15:00 - Strength & Balance. (St. Theresa's Hall)
Wednesdays 9:30 - Healthy Hearts. (St. Theresa's Hall)
Wednesdays 10:30 - Cardiac Rehab. (St. Theresa's Hall)
Thursdays 10:30 (on Zoom)

All classes are for 1 hour

COST: £7.00 PER CLASS

The class is designed to be both fun and effective

Tina is also able to help if you have any questions or anxieties about your condition,
or would like advice about diet and other lifestyle changes that could benefit your health.

What to expect:
There are no machines or equipment apart from steps, weights and bands.
Music is used for part of the class to make it motivating and fun.

The class format includes:

A warm up to prepare for exercise and to improve mobility and flexibility

A circuit of exercises to improve cardiovascular fitness and strength
-
A cool down for recovery and to improve flexibility and balance
-
A short relaxation and advice on diet and other lifestyle factors important health and well being.
It is open to anyone who wants to improve their health
and fitness and is also suitable for those with a history of: ​
